Learn how to score
All parents and carers are expected to take turns scoring during games. If it’s your first time, don’t worry – start by watching the instructional video provided to get familiar with the process. You can also ask someone from the team to sit with you and guide you through your first game. Most people find it easy after a few goes, and support is always available until you feel confident scoring on your own.
Digital scoresheet
At the beginning of the game tap all players who are playing in the game that day. Double check that their number is correct.
As play unfolds, tap each scoring button (1, 2 or 3 points) for every made basket, register fouls by selecting the player.
At breaks, and half time double check with the other teams scorer that you are both aligned, then resume scoring. After the final buzzer, review totals, tap “Submit,” and sync to update the league database.
For more information see the Play HQ website.
Scoreboard
The Referees will set the clock at the start of the game. The electronic scoreboard at each stadium is slightly different, but all very easy to use. Use the control panel to update scores and track fouls. If a player is on 4 fouls let the team manager or coach know.
You are also responsible for ‘turning the arrow or cone’ during the game to show who has possession of the ball in a ‘jump ball’ situation.
Ensure accuracy and stay focused—it's vital for players, referees, and spectators throughout the game.
