Stars Basketball Club welcomes kids aged 5-19 years to join our club and have fun!
Whether you are new to basketball, or you seek to change clubs to pursue new challenges, we have many teams to cater to all ages and abilities. More than just a basketball club - we strive to create a positive environment so players can reach their full potential on and off the court.
We are a community club that attracts kids living in Melbourne’s inner northern suburbs: Preston, Coburg, Thornbury, Northcote and Reservoir.
The STARS Basketball Club is a community club incorporated in 1994, and affiliated with the Coburg Basketball Association.
Our Club prides itself in being community focused and driven to providing an opportunity for kids to enjoy basketball year-round.
We are a club of 24 teams with a ratio of girls to boys of 60:40, and ages from 5 to 19 years.
There are two seasons per year.
Summer season:
Term 4 and Term 1Winter season:
Term 2 and Term 3.We don’t play school holidays or public holidays.

We communicate with our teams through WhatsApp. This includes reminders of game time and venues and the way to let your team know if you are ill or unable to make training or a game.
Registration for the Summer Season 2025/26 is open.
Registration for the season is via the online system PlayHQ. The summer season registration is open and the Summer Season grading games will begin on October 11 2025.

We field teams in the Coburg Basketball Association. We have 24 teams currently playing ranging from U8 Mixed Teams through to older adults.
